You may be aware that the next reunion of Bob Gurr's Battalion (1963 to 1965) is to be held in Rotorua in March 2010. The web page newsletter tells all about it. Click here to read.

An enthusiastic group of our people has over the years, kept a splendid record of our veterans and their addresses. We also have some details of those old soldiers who have passed on but unfortunately our contact addresses for the families of this group are incomplete and, in some cases, the surviving families have moved.

For the Rotorua reunion the committee is making a special effort to make contact with, and encourage the attendance of, the widows, partners and families of our deceased comrades. To this end we are sending this letter (with its enclosed information) to all the known addresses of this survivor group and to the last known addresses of the remainder.

When you get this letter we urge you to respond to the newsletter and, additionally, whether you can join us in Rotorua or not, let our Secretary (Rolly Rolston) know your contact address----whether we have recorded it correctly or not.

You may have kept contact with other families of deceased battalion veterans and you may care to check that they have received this letter. If they have not please do what you can to keep them informed and encourage their attendance in 2010. Please also see that their correct address comes to our secretary.

Our earnest desire is to keep you within the battalion family and to see you and your immediate family in Rotorua next March.
